WILLEMSTAD - Epidemiologist Izzy Gerstenbluth will receive the Cola Debrot prize of 2022 on 4 May. Minister Sithree van Heydoorn of Education, Science, Culture & Sport (OWCS) announced this.
The Cola Debrot prize is the highest award in Curaçao and is awarded annually on the birthday of poet, writer, politician, and former governor of the Netherlands Antilles, Nicolas ‘Cola’ Debrot. Gerstenbluth receives the prize for his work in the field of science and his efforts during the corona pandemic in Curaçao.
The prize consists of a gold pin representing an orange apple, a certificate and 5,000 guilders.
