WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao Baseball Federation (FEBEKO) and the Curaçao Beverage Bottling Company (CBBC), better known as Coca-Cola Curaçao, have signed a new sponsorship agreement with sports drink brand Powerade, strengthening support for the island’s national baseball program.

The agreement includes both financial sponsorship and the supply of Powerade products, aimed at supporting the Curaçao national baseball team in maintaining and further improving its high competitive level. The partnership is designed to assist players during training sessions and official games by providing proper hydration and essential nutrients.

“When you think about sports, you think about a sports drink: Powerade,” said Myrthe George-Verhulst, Marketing & PACS Manager at CBBC. “Powerade is not only meant to quench thirst, but more importantly, it contains four essential minerals the body needs: sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium. We call these electrolytes, and Powerade contains 50 percent more electrolytes compared to other sports drinks, helping to replace what the body loses during training so athletes can perform better, both in sports and in daily life.”

George-Verhulst added that CBBC is proud to sponsor the national baseball team and wished the players every success in their preparations and competitions.

From FEBEKO’s side, president Jedrek Magdalena welcomed the partnership and highlighted its broader impact. He said the federation is extremely pleased with the new sponsor, noting that the financial support will help strengthen local championships and benefit players, coaches and referees alike. According to Magdalena, the positive impact of such partnerships is already evident in the national team’s recent achievements, including a bronze medal at the Bolivarian Games and the Caribbean Cup championship title.

With this sponsorship, Powerade becomes an important partner in the continued development of baseball in Curaçao, a sport deeply rooted in the island’s culture and international sporting success.
