WILLEMSTAD - The Tumba Festival is definitely canceled this year. Organizer Asosiashon Di Musiko Di Korsou (AMAK) announced this on Thursday. There will also be no special show that can be seen on TV. It is the second year in a row that the organization has canceled the festival due to the corona situation.
AMAK's Manfred "Feko" Gomez deeply regrets the situation. “In addition to financial consequences, it also has emotional consequences,” says Gomez. “The Tumba festival takes place every year and the people must already miss that.”
According to Gomez, a TV show is not feasible. Due to the corona measures, including the curfew, there is not enough time to practice. “It is simply not feasible. The situation is very unfortunate, but we have a pandemic. As long as the numbers don't drop, we can't do anything."
