WILLEMSTAD - The Federashon di Futbol Kòrsou (FFK) has strongly condemned the recent incidents of violence during local football matches, calling them unacceptable and contrary to the values of the sport. The federation made the statement in an official press release issued this week.
During a youth match on October 18, several players and spectators were injured following a violent altercation. Less than three weeks later, on November 7, a third-division player physically attacked a referee during a match.
The FFK stated that both incidents are being investigated by the federation’s Disciplinary and Ethics Committee, which has the authority to impose severe sanctions, including long-term suspensions or bans from official competitions.
“These acts of aggression have no place in football,” the FFK declared. “The federation stands firmly for discipline, respect, and fair play, and will not tolerate any form of violence on or around the field.”
The organization emphasized that these incidents highlight the importance of its Strategic Plan 2025–2029, which focuses on creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive football environment across Curaçao.
The FFK reaffirmed its commitment to protecting players, referees, and fans, and called on clubs, coaches, and supporters to work together in restoring the integrity of local football.
