WILLEMSTAD - The Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences of the University of Curaçao Moises da Costa Gomez organizes, in cooperation with the local financial sector and with the EURO Working Group on Commodities and Financial Modeling, a financial conference from November 7-9, 2019, the FIDNES2019 Curacao Conference. FIDNES stands for Finance in the Dynamic Network Society & Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
The conference is a platform to identify and discuss new challenges for financial institutions in the new network age. Both professionals and academics are invited to participate. The ambition is to find new insights and solutions to the challenges facing the financial world.
Some special guest speakers include Evelyn Kruithof-Bor (CEO of APC Pension Fund Curaçao), Sudhir Rajkumar (the CEO of the United Nations pension fund in New York; he was previously responsible for pension advice in emerging countries at the World Bank) and Mario Anolli (Professor of Banking and Finance, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan, Italy). Mrs. Fekitamoeloa Katoa ‘Utoikamanu, the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States will give a special online speech for this conference.
Topics that will be discussed during the conference are pension funds, portfolio investments, family businesses and digital banking.
In addition, there is a special 1-day tutorial on pension funds, a half-day tutorial on Digital Banking and a 1-hour tutorial on succession planning in a family business.
Academics have already registered from Italy, Mexico, the Czech Republic, Nigeria, the US, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago and Curaçao. There will be a nice mix of international and local participants and plenty of opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience.
