WILLEMSTAD - The Minister of Finance Javier Silvania wants to carefully examine the proposal to raise the retirement age to 66 years. On Wednesday, the Minister of Social Development, Labor and Welfare Ruthmilda Larmonie-Cecilia said she found the proposal unrealistic.
Raising the retirement age is, however, a condition of the Netherlands for liquidity support.
Minister Silvania first wants to investigate whether there are alternatives to the proposal without a negative effect on the government budget.
