THE HAGUE, WILLEMSTAD - CFO Frank Eggink leaves shipbuilder Damen Shipyards. The reason for the departure is a conflict about the policy to be pursued.
The Dutch Financieele Dagblad reports this on the basis of a statement from Damen. Little is known about the background of the disagreement between Eggink and Damen.
It is not yet clear who will succeed the financial director. Eggink started in 2013 as CFO of the Gorcum-based company. Before that, he had a long career with Shell.
Profit shrunk
Damen achieved a turnover of 2.2 billion euros in 2017, which was 350 million euros more than a year earlier. However, the profit did not grow with it. In fact, it even halved, from 29.2 million euros to 11.3 million.
