WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao has recorded its first fatal traffic accident of 2026. A motorcyclist was killed in a serious crash on Helmin Wiels Boulevard, near the roundabout at Parasasa roundabout.
According to initial information, the rider lost control of his motorcycle and collided at high speed with the roundabout. The impact caused the motorcycle to leave the roadway and plunge into a ravine. The motorcyclist died at the scene from his injuries.
The accident occurred in the presence of family members of the victim, who were also riding motorcycles nearby at the time. Authorities indicated that the incident had a profound emotional impact on the family.
Emergency services and investigators were dispatched to the scene, and the circumstances surrounding the accident are currently under investigation by the Korps Politie Curaçao. No further details have been released at this stage.
