WILLEMSTAD - The first patient was transferred from the SEHOS to the CMC around 7.30 in the morning on Friday. Health Minister Suzanne Camelia-Römer, representatives of the new and the old hospital and also Bishop Luis Secco were present.
Secco has also blessed the new hospital. It remained uncertain for a long time before the move could go ahead.
Only the night before could green light be given for the patients' transition after problems with telephone lines and hygiene had been resolved.
The move lasted until 6 p.m.
