WILLEMSTAD - Service providers who do business abroad must check whether customers or suppliers are on a sanction list.
According to the Financial Intelligence Unit, FIU, customer due diligence should in any case be an integral part of doing business. The FIU was previously the Reporting Center for Unusual Transactions, the MOT. It has issued a newsletter to inform service providers about the consequences of the sanctions for their organization. Anyone who has people or companies in his customer base who are on the sanction list must terminate the relationship and report this to the FIU.
