WILLEMSTAD - Five of the eight suspects in the case of the 600-kilogram drug robbery from the Rio Canario police station remain in pre-trial detention. In any case, until June 8, when the next pre-trial hearing will take place. That was decided by the General Court during the first session yesterday.
Two suspects, including a former police officer, are accused of having played a role in carrying out the theft. The other suspects are accused, among other things, of being involved in the trafficking of the narcotics stolen during the burglary. Yesterday's hearing was adjourned because the investigation has not yet been completed. The case is expected to be heard in August.
