WILLEMSTAD - Of the ten catering establishments checked by the multidisciplinary team yesterday, only four complied with the rules. The team, consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development (MEO), the Curaçao Police Force (KPC) and the Curaçao Volunteer Corps (VKC), issued five warnings and two fines.
A customer of the Tropical Supermarket at the F.D. Rooseveltweg was fined for not wearing a face mask. The inspection team also turned away customers who consumed their purchases at the entrance of various mini markets and shops.
A group that was sitting under the tree also received a warning for violating the ban on gatherings. The owner of Toko Jenny was also informed that customers are not allowed to watch TV in the store. Finally, Omundo was fined because an employee was not wearing a mask.
