WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Football Association (FFK) denies that Remco Bicentini has been appointed as the new national coach of Curaçao. The FFK chairman Ramiro Griffith spoke with the Dutch news site NU.cw.
The football association recently bade farewell to Art Langeler. It was mentioned in various media that Bicentini would return as national coach of the Curaçao national team. Griffith emphasizes that this is not the case. According to the chairman, FFK is still in talks with two possible candidates.
Bicentini was ousted as national coach in 2020 by Guus Hiddink. He went on to work as an assistant coach with the Canadian national team. The former national coach faced the Curaçao team in the group stage of the CONCACAF Nations League in the game against Canada.
It is not known with which two candidates the Football Association is in talks.
