WILLEMSTAD - Former director of the Giro Bank, Eric García did not go on a hunger strike, but cannot tolerate eating in prison.
Sources confirm that García has not consumed food for three weeks. He only drinks water and his health has deteriorated considerably. The 79-year-old García is serving a five-year sentence for a number of offenses.
The prison management is looking at what can be done about Garcia’s situation.
