WILLEMSTAD - Former Prime Minister Ben Whiteman is pleased with the agreed transition period with the Venezuelan State Oil Company PdVSA. Last weekend it was concluded that after January 1, 2020, the Venezuelan company will continue to operate the refinery for another year.
The Heads of Agreement that was signed at the time states that PdVSA has large oil reserves and is, therefore, a suitable candidate according to Whiteman.
There are centuries of ties with Venezuela and therefore, according to Whiteman, PDVSA is preferable to continue to operate the refinery in the future.
