Local | By Correspondent June 20, 2022

ORANJESTAD - The four-country consultations between the Netherlands, Curaçao, Aruba and Sint Maarten have just started. After her visit to the BES islands, State Secretary for Kingdom Relations Alexandra van Huffelen traveled on to Aruba to attend the administrative consultations.

During the consultations with the Prime Ministers of the CAS islands and the State Secretary, the Temporary Work Organization and the COHO Kingdom Act will be discussed.

According to Prime Minister of Sint Maarten Silveria Jacobs, the meeting will determine how the countries will proceed with the process for COHO. “The various reports from the parliaments of the Kingdom form the basis for the discussions,” said Jacobs. “The outcome of this meeting will determine how countries deal with the Kingdom Act.”

A press conference will be held later today on the outcome of the consultation.
