Four-Country Social Development and Labor meeting successful in Curaçao

WILLEMSTAD - On Friday, October 27, the Four-Country Social Development and Labor Meeting took place at the Renaissance Windcreek Hotel. The meeting, initiated by Minister Ruthmilda Larmonie-Cecilia of Social Development, Labor, and Welfare of Curaçao, brought together ministers and representatives from Aruba, the BES islands, the Netherlands, and Sint Maarten. Some of the delegates from the countries participated digitally. 

The participating countries discussed topics such as growing poverty, labor treatment competition, migration policy, and differences in social benefits on the island. Presentations on the current situation, best practices, and planned changes in the social domain were shared, with a focus on collaboration between the islands and potential joint initiatives. 

A closer bond was formed in terms of planning and execution, opening up new opportunities for social development. All delegations expressed satisfaction with the initiation of this meeting by Larmonie-Cecilia and its success. Therefore, it was agreed during this meeting that the Four-Country Meeting within the social domain will return annually, creating a sustainable platform for collaboration.
