"Four flights a week between Curaçao and Bonaire"

Local | By Correspondent November 3, 2020

WILLEMSTAD, KRALENDIJK - Lieutenant- Governor Edison Rijna of Bonaire wants to limit the number of flights between his island and Curaçao. There would only be flights from Monday to Thursday and a maximum of one flight per day.

According to Rijna, agreements have now been made with the two airlines that maintain the route between Bonaire and Curaçao: Divi Divi Air and EZ Air.

The purpose of the measure is to prevent large groups of passengers from traveling to Bonaire. Since the cautious opening of the borders for passengers from other countries, although with the submission of a negative PCR test, passengers from the United States, for example, can in theory travel on to Bonaire via other islands.

Rijna announced earlier that Bonaire would remain closed for direct flights from the United States at least until mid-November.
