WILLEMSTAD - The Organized Crime Police Department officially arrested four men yesterday in connection with the discovery of 217 kilograms of marijuana. The men were picked up by the coast guard last month and handed over to the police.
Two Colombian and one Venezuelan man landed on Santa Cruz beach on March 24. The Rescue and Coordination Center (RCC) discovered the boat because it sailed very close to the coast. The police assisted in this operation.
Officers found four packages and a bag of drugs in the bushes. The coast guard was able to seize the boat and arrest the occupants at sea. The police are investigating the case further.
