WILLEMSTAD - A father was sentenced to four years in prison on Friday for molesting his own 11-year-old daughter. The man was released earlier because the investigation was inconclusive and the man denied the accusation.
But DNA testing and the girl's statement herself was enough for the judge to consider abuse proven.
The man had raped his daughter on March 1 this year. The uterus was injured, and bleeding occurred. DNA research at the NFI in the Netherlands showed that the sperm found belonged to the father.
The four-year prison sentence is equivalent to the demand of the Public Prosecution Service. However, the judge deducted the time in pre-trial detention.
