WILLEMSTAD - Amsterdam gets a street named after the well-known Curaçao writer Frank Martinus Arion. Mayor Femke Halsema reported this at the national commemoration of the abolition of slavery.
In total, the municipality will name 27 streets after fighters against colonialism and slavery. These street names are in the IJburg district. There is already a named after the leader of the slave uprising in Curaçao, the Tulastraat in the Bijlmer,
