WILLEMSTAD - A possible case of fraud is currently being investigated at water and electricity company Aqualectra.
Director Darick Jonis has confirmed this in a short press release. The company does not want to disclose any further details about the investigation. Jonis has indicated that the necessary actions are being taken.
Earlier this week it was reported in various media that fraud had been discovered at the Aqualectra purchasing department. Contractors would pay bribes for preferential treatment in tenders. The suspected employees have been suspended for the time being.
