WILLEMSTAD - Driving will become slightly more expensive starting next month. The price of gasoline will increase by five cents per liter and diesel will increase by three cents per liter. This is reported by Bureau Telecommunication and Post (BT&P) in a statement. BT&P monitors the price developments of oil products and utilities
Petrol now costs 1.86 guilders per liter and from 2 February 1.91 guilders. Diesel goes from 1.39 per liter to 1.42 guilders.
BT&P states that international prices for both crude oil and refined fuels have seen strong increases in recent months. The first effects of this in fuel prices for February 2021 are visible on Curaçao. BT&P warns that fuel prices will rise further in the coming months.
Electricity will become more than 1 cent more expensive. 1 Kilowatt now costs 53 cents and will cost 54 cents from February 1. A cubic meter of water will be 36 cents cheaper. 1000 liters now costs 8.35 guilders, but will drop to 7.99 guilders from 1 February.
The rates for a large and small propane cylinder will remain unchanged.
