WILLEMSTAD - The price for gasoline and diesel in Curaçao will go down on Tuesday. Drivers will soon have to pay 2.22 guilders per liter of gasoline. That is three cents less than now. Diesel is even going down by more. Seven cents per liter to 1.78 guilders.
The reason for the decrease this time does not lie in lower purchase prices. On the contrary, they have even increased slightly. But the guarantee component to be able to continue the fuel supply after the departure of Isla operator PdVSA is now being phased out.
Propane gas also cheaper
Propane gas is also getting cheaper. A large propane cylinder now costs 80 guilders, but that will be 10 guilders less from Tuesday, so 70 guilders.
From Tuesday consumers have to pay 14 guilders for a small gas cylinder. That is now 16 guilders.
Water and electricity
Water and electricity will go up in price. For household use up to nine cubic meters consumers will pay 28 cents more next month. 1000 liters of water will cost 9.09 guilders from July. The increase in water tariffs is the result of higher costs for water production.
The rate for electricity remains virtually the same. In the first and cheapest rate group consumers will soon pay 0.3 cents more per kilowatt hour: 61.6 cents.
