WILLEMSTAD - The tariff of diesel in Curaçao will increase by two cents on Tuesday, December 29. The rate of gasoline remains unchanged. The water rate will also increase as of Friday January 1, 2021.
The electricity tariff remains virtually unchanged. The Bureau Telecommunication and Post reports this in its monthly press release. The bureau monitors price developments of oil products and utilities.
The new diesel tariff is a result of the increase in the purchase price. The increase in water tariffs is described by the Bureau in a very technical manner as the result of 'a higher correction factor for November 2020 due to a deviation of the realized production mix compared to the forecast'.
