General pardon for objections to tax authorities

Local | By Correspondent August 23, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - All appeals filed in recent years will be approved in the coming months. This was announced by the Minister of Finance Javier Silvania on Monday.

According to Silvania, the staff shortage and the accumulated backlog with the tax authorities are so great that it is no longer possible to handle each complaint individually. There are currently more than 36,000 outstanding objections with the tax authorities. Silvania indicates that he and the ministry want to work on a solution to the problem in the coming months.

Last month, the minister announced that the tax authorities will soon have a call center.
