WILLEMSTAD - The Rescue and Coordination Center (RCC) received a call Thursday morning that a person in Klein Curaçao had a heart attack. The call indicated that people who were on site had started with resuscitation. The man, a 49-year-old German tourist, had become unwell on Klein Curaçao.
The Coast Guard helicopter was immediately dispatched with a medical team on board.
The ambulance service was also informed. The helicopter later landed with the patient landed in the Rif area in Otrobanda. Upon arrival, the person was transferred to the ambulance service.
Later that day, the Coast Guard received the sad message that the person was being treated in the hospital but died.
