WILLEMSTAD - At the beginning of the new year, the nearly 2000 account holders of the Giro Bank will receive a letter stating how and when they will get their money back. The Central Bank reported this in a press release earlier this week.
The arrangement has been drawn up in consultation with the government. The Netherlands has lent Curaçao the necessary funds to make these payments possible.
The vast majority of account holders get their money repaid from that loan.
