WILLEMSTAD - On Wednesday, the Council of Ministers approved the payment of the fifth tranche of the redundancy payment for ex-employees of the Isla refinery.
Last year, Refineria di Kòrsou (RdK) announced that it was unable to pay the salaries that the former employer Isla/PdVSA still owes to its ex-employees. The former employees were employed by the local subsidiary of Petróleos de Venezuela until the end of December 2019.
Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas previously announced that the government will ensure that the former employees of Isla/PdVSA are paid the remaining fourth and fifth part of their former employer's severance package.
