Government announces cut in fringe benefits civil servants despite protest

Local | By Correspondent June 17, 2020

WILLEMSTAD - The 12.5 percent cut on the fringe benefits of civil servants will continue as was announced before. Unions sought support from their members, but only a quarter supported the statement not to cooperate with the cuts.

These will mainly be tailored to the fringe benefits and redundancy. The Rhuggenaath norm for top incomes also continues. Not in a year, but now on July 1.

The Kingdom Council of Ministers will decide on 3 July whether Curaçao will receive more money from the Netherlands.
