WILLEMSTAD - Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath recorded a video message Monday evening. In the message, Rhuggenaath states that a proposal has been submitted to regulate a 25% cut on the fringe benefits package of Members of Parliament and ministers by law.
For civil servants, a cut of the total package of fringe benefits by 12.5% will be regulated by law. This also applies to management and employees of semi-public companies.
Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath further indicated that he will be present at a meeting of the Kingdom Council of Ministers in The Hague this Friday. He hopes to reach a definitive agreement with the Netherlands on financing and sustainable cooperation.
According to the Premier, "there is not much left to do to reach definitive agreements with the Dutch government". He did indicate that the last few steps weigh the most.
