Government asks your opinion about test events in survey

Local | By Correspondent June 2, 2021

WILLEMSTAD - Many corona measures have already been relaxed in recent weeks and the government also thinks it is time for events to take place again. These must be covid safe and responsible. The government asks your opinion about this in a survey.

Outgoing Prime Minister Rhuggenaath announced this last week: "The government has no experience with organizing a party." The organization of the test events is therefore in the hands of a private party. Various parties, concerts, stage performances and other events are coming, in both enclosed spaces and outdoors. It is examined whether everything can take place covidsafe. The first test event is a dance party in a club.

But first, the government wants to know what expectations people have of such events and what they are prepared to attend.

The survey asks questions such as: Which events you want to visit in the near future; whether you will feel safe there, even if no additional security measures are taken; whether you are willing to do a quick test beforehand; or to wear a face mask during the event.

And would you, for example, stay home if you lose smell and taste on the day of the event? Are you willing to pay extra for measures if there are fewer visitors? But also, for example: Do you accept an app with which you share your location and action can be taken afterwards if an infection is detected? Finally, you can give good advice to the government in an open question.

The survey is available in four languages: Dutch, Papiamento, English and Spanish. Filling in only takes a few minutes. The result will be announced soon on the Facebook page of Gobièrnu di Kòrsou.

You can find the survey at www.gobiernu.cw/bibando8.
