WILLEMSTAD - From Thursday, eight rental cars will be available for the Curaçao Police Force (KPC) to solve the vehicle shortage. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Justice Charles Cooper.
The atrako team (team that investigates assaults) and the national security service (LBD) took action on Wednesday because they have too few cars to carry out their work properly. NAPD union protested at Fort Amsterdam this week. They wanted to know when the cars will be delivered.
The minister has announced that there is a solution; a sacrifice in the budget. In this way, money has been released to rent eight cars. The cars can be used for one month, after which the money is gone. Each rental car costs 20,000 guilders per month.
