WILLEMSTAD - Last Saturday, the government signed an agreement with seven organizations that are involved in the management of sports facilities. All organizations have gone through a review and approval process.

In accordance with new policy, the government has concluded management agreements with organizations that qualify for this according to a list of criteria. The Culture & Sports sector started this process with an inventory of the facilities and subsequently organized a registration for all organizations to register, the government said in a statement.

The agreements were signed in the form of a "drive thru" to take into account the COVID-19 measures.

These are the organizations Fundashon Real Buena Vista, Fundashon Desaroyo Deportivo Kòrsou, Fundashon Terenonan Deportivo Santa Maria (Heintje Kool), Plataforma Bandariba pa Kas Kòrá Nobo, CB4 Foundation, Fundashon Joshua Brenet and Asosashon Deportivo Rising Trotters.

An agreement had already been signed with Cirilio Chirino Ballpark and Fundashon Progreso Marie Pampoen, bringing the total to nine organizations that will manage the sports facilities.

The organizations attended a workshop in July and August, organized by the Culture & Sport Sector in collaboration with the Fundashon Desaroyo Deportivo Kòrsou (FDDK). In this workshop the content of the management agreement was discussed, as well as aspects such as an activity plan, a maintenance plan and an exploitation plan, design plans of the facilities and the accountability for the financial part. The management agreement has a term of five years, with the option of extension.
