WILLEMSTAD - The government has to pay compensation to a fireworks importer. He had stored his heavy fireworks for big shows in the Kruithuis (warehouse) in Brievengat.
The fireworks were stolen there in October 2018.
Storing fireworks in this warehouse is mandatory.
The importer therefore believes that the government is responsible for security during storage. And the judge agreed. He ordered the government to pay the 58,000 guilders damage to the importer.
