Government once again arranges repatriation flight to Venezuela

Local | By Correspondent June 17, 2021

WILLEMSTAD - Venezuelans detained in Curaçao can return to their country on Saturday 10 July. The Curaçao government, in collaboration with the Venezuelan consulate, has chartered a repatriation flight for that day.

The borders between Venezuela and Curaçao are still closed. Last week it was decided to extend the measure again, so that the borders will be closed until at least September 10. It is therefore impossible for Venezuelans in Curaçao, but also for Curaçaoans in Venezuela, to be able to return without this type of assistance.

The repatriation flight on July 10 is primarily intended to deport Venezuelans who are illegally on the island to their country of origin. But also Venezuelans who are legal here and stranded Curaçaoans in Venezuela can make use of this charter flight.

The price of the one-way ticket between Hato and Caracas is 436 guilders; the costs for a PCR test are added to this. Tickets are available until June 30 at Curaçao Handling Agent in Pietermaai Parking Mall.
