WILLEMSTAD - The government of Curaçao wants to ensure that the booster vaccination can also be added to the Digital Covid Certificate (DCC) in the short term. This is necessary so that residents of Curaçao can continue to use their QR access code in the Netherlands.
The validity of the Dutch admission ticket (CTB) and that of the international ticket (EU DCC) were largely aligned on 8 February. The rules for the Curaçao admission ticket (DCC) are also the same. The vaccination certificate is valid for 270 days after complete vaccination, after which it expires. By taking the booster shot, the QR code does not expire.
Although Curaçao complies with the same validity, it is not yet possible to add the data from the booster shot to the DCC. 270 days after the last vaccination, the Curaçao QR code can no longer be used in the Netherlands and other countries in Europe.
Secretary General Sharlon Melfor of the Department of Health, Environment and Nature (GMN) says the government is working hard on it and will provide more information soon.
