Governor George-Wout visits Ecofarm Curaçao

Local | By Press release March 31, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - On March 28, Governor Lucille George-Wout, visited the new experience center EcoFarm at Rooi Santu. During the tour, she was extensively acquainted with new innovative forms of energy generation that are set up on the site.

The visit of the governor was received with enthusiasm by the initiators of Ecofarm. The island of Curacao also faces the challenge of the energy transition, as is the case worldwide. This is not only a challenge and issue for the government, but for every resident on Curacao.

Due to new innovations and lower prices of existing technologies such as solar panels, generating electricity from sun and wind has come within the reach of more people. For the home, the company as well as the car, the new techniques offer ready-made solutions for almost every situation. One of these innovations is the Ecoplant, whose inventor and developer, Mr. Hans Veenemans from Zwolle-Netherlands was also present during the visit.

EcoPlant

The Ecoplant is a very special innovation that can best be described as a small power plant, fed by solar energy. The Ecoplant rotates with the sun and can therefore optimally use the energy from the sunlight. All technology, including the batteries, has been brought together in the Ecoplant, so that it can supply power to the home, company, or car completely independently.

Education

EcoFarm is looking for a connection with education on Curacao. This initiative was also welcomed by the governor. It is the wish to work together with students from technical education on the composition and construction of an Ecoplant.

Production on Curacao

Contacts have now been made with local entrepreneurs to have the (partial) production and assembly of, among other things, the Ecoplant on Curacao. This allows a beautiful product on Curacao to be manufactured by local companies for end-users on Curacao and in the region.
