WILLEMSTAD - Governor Lucille George-Wout has invited the parliamentary faction leaders of both the coalition and opposition parties to talks today. The governor wants to see if she can break through the deadlock in parliament.
At both Friday and yesterday's meeting, not enough parliamentarians were present, preventing Shaheen Elhage from being sworn as the new MP for the coalition partner PAR.
President of parliament Ana Maria Pauletta said yesterday that parliament is at an impasse. But she hopes that common sense will eventually lead to a solution.
