WILLEMSTAD – From December 4 to 7, 2025, the Governor of Curaçao, His Excellency Mauritsz de Kort, paid an official working visit to Sint Maarten and Saba together with his delegation in connection with Saba Day. This year marked the 50th anniversary of the public holiday, which was celebrated on December 5.
During the visit to Saba, Governor de Kort was joined by his counterparts, His Excellency Governor Ajamu Baly of Sint Maarten and His Excellency Governor Alfonso Boekhoudt of Aruba. The commemorative activities for the 50th anniversary of Saba Day took place in The Bottom, Saba, and included the hoisting of the Saban flag, an official ceremony, several cultural parades, and a large public market. The governors were accompanied by the Lieutenant Governor of Saba, Jonathan Johnson.
The program on Sint Maarten focused on a series of working meetings between the governors, aimed at strengthening cooperation and the exchange of views within the Kingdom.
