WILLEMSTAD - A group of TeleCuraçao employees went on strike today. As a result, some television programs were unable to continue. The company's president, Hugo Lew-Jen-Tai, was laid off some time ago. Minister Charles Cooper then appointed accountant Terry Hernandez to put things in order at the national television station.
Checks are currently taking place and that has led to problems today. According to Cooper, it concerns six people who have stopped working and have engaged the ABVO trade union. The minister says it is necessary for some matters at the company to be vetted because TeleCuraçao is incurring large financial losses.
