WILLEMSTAD - Guus Hiddink is no longer national coach of the Curaçao national football team. The football association FFK announced this on Wednesday.
Earlier this week, a meeting was held within the football association. FFK would like to apply a new strategy in policy. The goal of reaching the 2022 World Cup in Qatar has not been achieved.
“FFK wants to make a fresh start with the construction. We have come to an agreement that FFK will no longer be led by Guus Hiddink and the technical team,” Board member Franklin Mathilda indicated. There would be no breach of contract; FFK and Hiddink have come to an agreement together.
The association thanks all technical employees and players for their efforts over the past period.
