WILLEMSTAD - Minister of Justice Shalten Hato wants to implement major changes in the SDKK prison in the near future. According to the minister, substantial investments must be made in training staff and the reintegration program.
If the reintegration center were to function optimally, Hato believes that this will largely recoup the costs. The minister wants the center to have professional staff and equipment. In the Netherlands, the justice minister paid a visit to the prison in Alphen aan den Rijn, where the prison and the reintegration center do function at a professional level.
The minister recently paid two working visits to the SDKK prison and expressed his appreciation for the prison's employees. According to the minister, prison staff do a great job every day with the limited resources that the work environment offers.
