WILLEMSTAD - A first case of monkey pox was probably registered in Curaçao on Monday. This was announced by the Ministry of Health, Environment and Nature (GMN).
The person in question came back from abroad. After complaints similar to those of the monkeypox virus, a test was administered. The result is positive.
The ministry states that a second test has been taken that determines the final result. The person is in isolation and the epidemiology department (EPI) is taking the necessary measures to prevent further spread. The authorities are awaiting the results.
