WILLEMSTAD - Hensley Koeiman of the MAN party indicates that he wants to take over the seat of Member of Parliament Steven Martina if he resigns from his position as party leader.
Last Friday, Martina announced that he would resign as leader of the MAN faction in order to make way for more rejuvenation within the parliament. The choice of the former prime minister comes as a surprise to some. Insiders indicate that Koeiman would no longer have contact with the MAN. Koeiman contradicts this and states that he was present at the last party congress.
Koeiman says he wants to play an active role as a Member of Parliament. He also indicates that his joining does not have to hinder the rejuvenation of the party because this process must be accompanied by a 'good mix of knowledge, experience, trust, and loyalty.'
