WILLEMSTAD - For the third time in a row, former top baseball player Hensley Meulens of Curaçao will accompany the Dutch baseball team during the World Baseball Classic in March 2024.
Meulens was first appointed as national coach in 2013 and has already reached the semi-finals twice with the Dutch team. “It is an honor for me to be the manager of the Team Kingdom of the Netherlands. We have shown that we can achieve an extremely high level and are again bringing together the best players this season," Meulens told the Dutch media.
The Dutch team will play in the first group stage against host nation Taiwan, Cuba, Italy and a qualifier. In the second round, the Netherlands will play against Japan and the final round will take place in Miami. The World Baseball Classic will be played from March 8 to 21.
