WILLEMSTAD - On the first day of the lockdown, the government's Epidemiology Department reports 250 new infections. Never before have so many new infections been detected in one day, no less than 25 percent of the number of people tested.
A record number of 1,066 people were tested in one day. 61 People recovered, bringing the number of active infections to 1,445.
Three people have died from the coronavirus in the past 24 hours. One patient was in the hospital and died there. Another patient entered the emergency room of the Curaçao Medical Center after which a Covid-19 infection was detected, and the patient died. One patient died in a care home.
There are currently 38 people with Covid-19 in hospital, 13 of them in intensive care. Two patients are from Bonaire.
