WILLEMSTAD - What is now known as Hilton Hotel becomes a Dreams Resort. This was confirmed by sources close to owner of the building, Alfredo Lowenstein. "The management contract has since been signed."
Dreams is part of AMResorts that uses different "brands", of which Dreams is one and also Sunscape. The latter is already present in Curaçao, namely in a hotel of Lowenstein. AMResorts is owned by the Apple Leisure Group (ALG). Dreams in Curaçao will be an all-inclusive resort, says the source.
The hotel will be renovated and an investment of 12 million dollars is involved. The hotel remains open and the staff keep their work. First until the end of May as a Hilton and then temporarily as a Curaçao Caribbean Resort.
The employees are therefore employed by CCR Hotel Management (Curaçao Caribbean Resort), the original name, which will therefore also be used in the transition phase from Hilton to Dreams. This involves around 160 permanent employees and around 30 to 40 part time workers.
If the hotel continues with the Dreams flag at the end of 2019, this will be the first resort of this "brand" in Curaçao and in this part of the region. In Mexico there are different Dreams and also in Costa Rica one, Panama one and in the Dominican Republic even three. Dreams is seen as a four-star resort.
