ORANJESTAD - Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes has invited the leaders of the political parties to a historic summit in Aruba. For the first time, political leaders were all at the table together.
Present were RED Party leader Ricardo Croes, Raiz Party leader Ursell Arends, POR party leader Andin Bikker, UPP / PPA Party leader Booshi Wever, MEP Chairman Hendrik Tevreden and Robert Candelaria on behalf of the AVP.
During the summit, the directors of the Finance and Legislation and Legal Affairs directors exchanged information about the current financial situation and about the new conditions for the third tranche of liquidity support.
Political leaders have stated that they are against the way the Netherlands acts, and are urging the government to create room to negotiate the conditions.
Political leaders were pleased to be involved in this process. This is the first time that political leaders have come to the table together, and if it is up to Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes, it will not be the last.
