ORANJESTAD - Minister of Foreign Affairs Wopke Hoekstra has thanked the Aruban government for its active cooperation in the implementation of sanctions against Russia announced by the European Union. “It is essential that we act together as a Kingdom in this regard,” said the minister after his conversation with Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes.
In April, the Aruba Aviation Directorate seized 7 aircraft registered in Oranjestad of Russian owners, by grounding them or deregistering them.
Hoekstra made introductory visits to Sint Maarten, Curaçao and Aruba this week. The Four-Country Consultation on Foreign Relations took place in Willemstad. Foreign policy is a Kingdom affair.
